What is the prostate ?
The prostate is a gland of the masculine genital apparatus which plays a role in the production of semen.It is located under the bladder ahead of the rectum and encircles the beginning of urethra, channel which allows to eliminate the urine of the bladder. The prostate has the form of a chestnut about 3 centimetres high and 4 centimetres broad. It is encircled with a capsule.
The prostate is composed of a central zone around urethra and a peripheral zone, close to the rectum. All around urethra, group of muscular grains regrouped under the prostate forms the urinary sphincter which controls the passage of urine by contracting or by loosening, by allowing continence so.
What is the role of the prostate ?
The prostate produces a party of seminal liquid. The most part of seminal liquid is produced by the seminal vesicles. This liquid blends in spermatozoons, which come from testicles by vas deferenses, in a party of urethra (prostatic urethra) at the time of the éjaculation.
